NOT ALL NATURAL PET FOODS ARE CREATED EQUALLY!

Because of the increased demand for natural pet foods, several commercial pet food companies have now begun producing "natural" foods.

Dog food ingredients and cat food ingredients are listed in order of their volume percentages.  For example, two new  dog food formulas on the market by Science Diet are touted as natural Beef and Chicken.  In reality, brewer's rice - a waste product of the alcohol industry - is their primary ingredient.  Beef and Chicken are listed as the 7th ingredients respectively.  Four out of the first seven ingredients are brewer's rice, ground wheat, corn gluten meal, and soybean meal.

Their cat formulas don't fare any better.  Ocean Fish and Chicken are listed as the 6th ingredients respectively.  Again, brewer's rice is their primary ingredient.  Cats are true carnivores and require meat protein.  An "economical" brand won't deliver the protein that your cat requires.
